The international beach volleyball elite welcomed the new Mikasa beach volleyball, the BV550C during the Finals of the Beach Pro Tour in Doha.

The model that will become the official and exclusive ball of the Beach Pro Tour, the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Mexico in October and the Paris 2024 Olympics, features decades of research and development.
Mikasa has listened to the feedback of the best players and coaches in the world to develop a ball that combines cutting-edge technology and respect for the environment like never before.

In fact, this ball uses recycled nylon for the first time and its flamboyant combination of colors (Golden Sands Yellow, Endless Skies Blue and Scorching Sun Red) is rendered by water-based inks. Two actions to significantly reduce the environmental impact.

A unique dimpled surface improves grip and allows for more delicate ball control with your fingertips. The most iconic shots of beach volleyball will thus become even faster and more spectacular.
The new technology has reduced water absorption, thus significantly reducing the weight variation compared to conventional balls.
The BV550C has changed the shape of the valve: the new design will decrease the adhesion and the lodging of micro grains of sand.

The design of its surface reflects Mikasa's partnership with Volleyball World: the combination of the three new colors and their contrast increase the visibility of the ball both for players on the pitch and for spectators in the stands or in front of the TV.

The BV550C balloon will be available from May 2023.
