PADOVA WINS THE DEL MONTE ITALIAN CUP A2

Tonazzo Padova, one of the Mikasa Team Uniform, triumphed at the Del Monte Italian Cup A2 for the first time in its history.
In the Semifinal Padova defeated Sora 3-0. Against the Final’s opponent, Vero Volley Monza, Padova’s players showed a very special competitive spirit.

Only a few details, a few plays decided what turned into an absolute thriller that finished at the tie-break with the happy-ending for the league leaders, Padova. The tie-break could not have been more exciting, a roller-coaster with many changes of lead. Monza got the first match ball thanks to a Padura Diaz block but Padova would cancel out two of these before taking the lead. But that was not the end of it, Monza got once again one point from celebration on an Elia block, that was tied by Padova. The latter eventually found two winning blocks to seal it 23-21.
